Michelle Kenney (Instructs pottery, glazing techniques, lego club, and cooking club)

Michelle has found a passion for clay and is very involved with our pottery studio. However, she also has many other talents and hobbies. Including instructing our kids cooking club and Lego clubs. She also takes care of all our kiln firings and mixing glazes.

As a busy wife of a business owner and mom of one son who’s now homeschooled she still finds time to support the center. She has a passion for helping children and a love for helping others. Michelle loves to spend time camping with her family and taking side by side adventures. She has a love for birds and enjoys watching and photographing the cardinals that visit her feeders. Michelle loves to cook and bake.

Michelle has recently joined the Crystal Falls Contemporary Center board and is enthusiastic about keeping the vision of the center alive through offering diverse programming for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Michelle had dabbled in pottery in HS. However, took a course through the center a few years back and has committed herself to expanding her craft. She says “If I can learn pottery so can you.” Encouraging others to sign up for a class!

Cindy Buchman (Instructs anything and everything craft related)

As a devoted Mother of 3 and a proud Nana of 5 cherished grandchildren, my passion for art is intricately woven with a profound connection to nature. My eldest son, residing near Crivitz, Wisconsin, shares his life with his wife and their 4 year old son. Additionally, my twin daughters, both proud veterans of the US Navy, have chosen diverse locations for their families. Currently, one is in California, with her husband and three children-9 year old son, 3 year old daughter, and newborn son. The other in Oklahoma, with her husband and their 4 year old son.

Having embraced Iron River as my home for the past 5 years alongside my supportive husband, Bruce, my artistic journey commenced when my daughters were just 9 years old. Crafting has been a constant source of joy for me, and I am particularly drawn to the beauty of nature as a muse for my creations.

My artistic philosophy centers around infusing a sense of joy and fun into every crafting experience. Among my favorite creations are sun catchers, which not only serve as personal expressions but are also shared with the community through local and online sales. In my collaboration with the contemporary center, my vision extends beyond teaching techniques; it encompasses fostering a community that celebrates diverse art forms.

I am eager to guide and inspire others. My goal is to create a space where individuals can discover the beauty of artistic expression, drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of nature. I look forward to the opportunity to inspire and create more memorable crafting experiences that celebrate the wonders of the world around us.

Lisa (Instructs Hand Knitting)

My name is Lisa and I love to hand knit beautiful warm items for my friends and family. I enjoy teaching others this fun craft so they can also make items for themselves or others. It’s a great way to unwind and relax at the end of the work day.
